Guided hike from Bivignano to Rimini
This year's guided hike is a very special highlight! We walk from Bivignano (Arezzo, Tuscany) through the Marche region to Rimini (Emilia Romagna) and admire our four-legged friends, who have already travelled this route 11 times. Of course, we can take a little more time for the almost 150 kilometres. And the final swim in the sea is of course a must.
By the way: We would also be happy to organise a suitable hike for your group - let us and our experience in this wild and romantic region inspire you!
Procedure of the hiking weeks
Upon arrival, we will check into our apartments / rooms and enjoy an aperitif and Tuscan dinner together in our pergola, where we can get to know each other. Alternatively, we can meet in Anghiari and admire one of Italy's most beautiful villages.
The next day, we will set off over hill and dale through the wild and romantic Tuscany or other regions (route details will be announced shortly before departure – we will plan each section on foot and by mountain bike beforehand and save the stages with Komoot).
The daily distances will be between 15-26km – we offer various tours of different lengths and degrees of difficulty – you should be reasonably fit, especially as our region has quite a few hills. After 6-8 daily stages, we will reach our destination and enjoy a delicious dinner from the region one last time before the big departure the next day. We will certainly be feeling wistful, a little sore and with lots of great memories in our luggage.
In case of heavy rain, an alternative programme may be organised at short notice, but so far we have been very lucky (touch wood).
Hiking with light luggage
When hiking, we only take a light rucksack with us containing the essentials. The rest of our luggage is transported from place to place in our pick-up truck. The agriturismi usually offer double rooms, but sometimes there may be a triple or quadruple apartment. A small surcharge is applied for single rooms.
Required equipment
The weather in May/June is usually good. But even in October/November, you can usually expect mostly dry weather and, of course, cooler nights. It is advisable to bring something warm to wear: we eat outside whenever possible. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees, so be sure to bring good footwear and rain gear, as well as a daypack for essentials. If the heavens open, a bad weather programme will be organised on the spot. The agriturismi are typically Tuscan and give us a very warm welcome. They are little-known gems, so to speak.
In short: so far, every hike has been simply fantastico and very sunny!
Dates 2026
Our previous hiking weeks have been such a joy for our guests that we are expanding our hiking program in 2026 and offering several dates. We look forward to friendly, camino lovers who enjoy fine Tuscan cuisine, charming agriturismi and breathtaking landscapes.
Past adventures
We have been enjoying the guided hikes for two years now. While the horses enjoy their holidays, we roam the wonderful Tuscan countryside on foot. Even though it is still a relatively recent highlight, we already carry many special memories with us.
2023 - Premiere!
Bivignano's first guided hiking week was simply fantastic. 8 hiking-loving bipeds plunged into the unknown adventure and hiked through the wonderful, autumnal landscape of Tuscany. We enjoyed the landscape to the full, as well as the various agriturismi where we stayed, the divine food and the time together. An absolute highlight that left such a strong impression that we have made it a permanent part of our programme.
2024
The 2024 hiking week was also a dream: St Peter gave us daily sunshine and T-shirt weather (in November, mind you), the agriturismi in Umbria and Tuscany were once again fantastic (there was everything to enjoy, from cosy rustic to luxurious - the food was a highlight every time). The atmosphere was relaxed and harmonious - we are already looking forward to the hike in 2025!
