Our loyal heroes need you!
They have carried us throughout their entire lives, worked patiently, made hearts beat faster and given everyone unforgettable moments. Today, they have grown old – and more than earned their retirement on our vast forest pastures. But a dignified retirement requires care. And this is exactly where YOU come in.
With your sponsorship, you give more than just support
You give security, comfort and love. You help ensure that 21 horses and mules are well cared for. This includes fresh feed, veterinary care, medication, farrier, osteopath, and maintenance of our huge pastures, watering places, fences and shelters. Our four-legged friends at Bivignano are getting old – and that's wonderful, because it shows that they are doing well and that we are doing something right (and luck always plays a part, of course). The most important thing of all is our huge open stable, which our two herds enjoy on over 35 hectares of land, in meadows and in the woods.

Does your heart say YES?
All of this costs money – but above all, it costs passion. If your heart says YES, be sure to get in touch!
You will receive photos and updates about your sponsored horse and can spoil it and spend time with it on your next visit.
As a thank you, a small surprise gift awaits all sponsors. And we will be happy to issue you with a sponsorship certificate!
Horses seeking sponsorship
The following horses are looking for sponsors. We, and certainly the horses too, would be delighted if you would support us. A huge thank you in advance!

Sam
A wonderful ranch horse from South America, we estimate his age to be around 28-30 years old. He is a horse with a heart of gold and has been with us for 17 years, working as hard as a bee, loyal and sure-footed. So many have had their first riding experiences on him and were all thrilled. Sam has severe arthritis in his front legs, but he still wants to roam the woods with his companions – albeit slowly and leisurely. He has been retired for two years and enjoys the best food and lots of cuddles. And, of course, his herd.

Gazelle
27.5 years old – our first mare, who came with us when we moved to Italy in 2008. She has given so many guests wonderful rides (the oldest was in his mid-80s) and carried beginners over hill and dale. Two years ago, when her long-time friend Diego galloped over the rainbow bridge at just under 32 years of age, she suffered a bout of laminitis and Cushing's disease and almost left us. The fighter pulled herself together and is fit again, but we will no longer ride her, and that is absolutely fine. She loves her new, more comfortable life.

Rosi
27.5 years old, funny and intelligent, she sees everything and fears nothing. Until a year ago, she was even part of the Rimini adventure; she much prefers long rides to the home turf. From now on, things will be quieter for the old smart lady. She is still used, also likes ground work and is simply a legend here, because she was the third horse here in Bivignano and really made the Bivignano boss sweat during the trial ride in 2008.

Geronimo
A true Argentine, approximately 26 years old. He was abused in the past and did not trust people for a long time. Here, he has blossomed into the leader of his own herd and has carefully carried many beginners on his back. He is still the leader of the herd, beautiful and healthy. He is no longer used much, even longer rides are no longer his thing, but rather ground work and lessons. He is a wonderfully gentle horse and loves being here in Bivignano, loving his dozens of hectares and many mares.

Mary Lou
This delicate Criollo mare, also around 25 years old, was previously mistreated, but she has found her purpose in life with us, carrying countless people over hill and dale and bringing joy to nervous riders. Our sweetheart suffers from kissing spines, a disease of the spine, and is therefore rarely used. Ground work is good for her, and she loves to roam the countless hectares and live in the herd.

Pablo
A shy, tri-coloured 25-year-old Criollo gelding who took a long time to believe that he could now stay in Bivignano forever. He used to be passed around a lot. Having arrived in his paradise seven years ago, he is only ridden by selected people. He often acts macho when being ridden, but he is a very gentle gelding with a strong will. Due to his irregular conformation, he is no longer ridden very much, he enjoys his free time with his herd, and that is exactly how it should be.

Nugget
The 21-year-old golden Criollo gelding came to us at a very young age, traumatised. Pampered in Bivignano, he settled in wonderfully and was only ridden by selected riders. Unfortunately, he has arthritis in his front legs and can no longer be out and about too much. In 2025, he also had a malignant tumour removed. Now cured, we hope that he can enjoy his paradise and his friends for many years to come.

Moretti
Our three-coloured Criollo gelding from Uruguay, aged around 21, is no longer in service due to arthritis – but he loves being with his friends in the countless pastures and forests, being pampered and simply enjoying the present after his many years of service.
Mathilda
Our beautiful Muli thoroughbred mare, 18 years old, has mild arthritis and misalignment of her front legs. We currently have it under control, but longer rides are no longer possible. She loves to be pampered, is highly intelligent and alert. A gentle long-eared creature with the most beautiful eyes in the world.
If anyone would like to help another horse or mule, just let us know. We are grateful for EVERYTHING. And you know, even those who are not yet retired or sponsored are pampered by us just as much as the seniors. No one is neglected.
A HUGE THANK YOU to the entire Bivignano family!
