Two crazy swiss persons live their dream...
We have started our dream in 2007. With incredible organization, strong will, even greater hope and big help of our unique family and friends we bought this beautiful rustic Casa Bivignano in Tuscany. At the beginning of 2008 we moved with our horses Diego & Gazelle from Switzerland to Italy. A giant challenge when you consider that Italy is so close though but - in all - incredibly different from Switzerland.
Stefano is a trained confectioner and he already ran a restaurant. He also has extensive experience as a plumber and is an avid craftsman. For years I worked at the office and the HR Industry. Together we indulged many hobbies (including cooking, western riding and the carnival of Basel) until we finally found our paradise:
Agriturismo Casa Bivignano is a small guest farm with 20ha land, which is open nearly all year. We work hard but with amazing joy for our friendly guests and us. If you love the nature and tranquility, animals, a warm and friendly atmosphere, the typical local cuisine, medieval towns and don't get restless when the next village is 6km away, Bivignano is the right place for you. Since our arrival in Bivignano we have rebuilt a lot, grown, expanded, cut down and were busy as bees. No sign of boredom, the next 20 years there's lots to do! And of course, the animals also play the biggest part.
Our oldest cat Zorro, our youngster Billy Ray and the sweet Annie enjoy their life with us and wrap the guests with ease around the finger. Since Summer 2018 we also give a home at a beautiful cat named Casanova.
In autumn 2008 the young black mixed breed dog Lucy joined us, a beautiful friendly dog with an exuberant energy. Lucy accompanies us on all rides and loves to play with the cats (whether it is just as well the other way around?)
We started with 2 galloping friends and now have 18 horses and 2 mules called Mathilda & Mey! After Diego and Gazelle came the smart white mare Rosie. Followed by all these great Criollos and Mestizos from Uruguay and Argentina, bought by our good friend and horsedealer Simone. We are proud and happy to give a good home and a native surrounding to all these unique horses and mules who gives our guests unforgettable hours.
All of them are reliable and well-trained horses, including quiet and sure-footed animals for those who bring little experience or just beginners. For experienced riders or just talented rookies we offer longer rides and trekking's.
Even cooking is one of our great passions. We collect the recipes from our neighbors (especially Nonna Vera), spy on Umbrian and Tuscan cuisine and cook with fresh ingredients and our experience. We love to sit together with our guests, enjoying a delicious tuscan 3-4-course dinner and good vino tavola. All details are listed on our Website. If you want more information please feel free to call or mail us. We surely provide you with the needed information (we speak English, German, Italian and French).
To come as a guest and leave as a friend - that's our desire. We look forward to seeing you!
